Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and outdoors at Harvard Square, 400 Harvard Street, Cambridge, MA

Join us in Harvard Square as we celebrate the 16th Annual Dance for World Community Festival with a performance from Robert Rogler's ballet "The Twelve Dancing Princesses."

  • Dance: The "Pas de Deux" from the third act of Robert Rogler's ballet "The Twelve Dancing Princesses"
  • Performers: Maria Rogler and Martin Skocelas-Hunter
  • Choreographer: Maria Rogler

A "Pas de Deux" (literally a "Step of Two") from the third and final act of Robert Rogler's ballet "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" will be danced by the ballet's hero and heroine. These two, who have been most responsible for defeating evil and freeing captives, dance four short dances together expressing their relief at the situation and their love for each other.

The Festival is from noon to 6pm and is free to the public and attended by approximately 20,000 people. There will be dance, exhibiting artists, and food vendors.

Symphonies and Songs for Strings

University Lutheran Church, 66 Winthrop Street, Cambridge, MA

Join award-winning composer Robert Rogler for a new style of concert. “Symphonies and Songs for Strings” will showcase Rogler’s string music and will include a symphony for string quintet, songs with string quartet accompaniment, dances from his ballet, and a piano trio. This will be the first time many of these works will be performed in the United States.

The following performers are all members of the Du Bois Orchestra:

  • Nozomi Murayama (violin)
  • Jacqueline Bensen (violin)
  • Josue Negrete (viola)
  • John Rogler (cello).

Also performing will be Yunona Tabala and Robert Rogler.

DOORS OPEN AT 6:30. This event is free. Donations accepted.

This concert is supported by the Du Bois Orchestra and The Rogler Collection.
